Admission Procedure
Eligibility:
The minimum qualification required for admission to the Course is as follows:
A Bachelor's Degree of 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline from the University of Jammu or any other University recognized by the University of Jammu or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by the University of Jammu with at least 50% of the aggregate marks (40% for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes);
OR
A pass in the final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants; Cost and Works Accountants; Company Secretaries;
OR
A.M.I.E. (Engineering) with at least 50% of the aggregate number of marks (40% for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes).
Notwithstanding anything contained in the Statutes, a candidate who has appeared or is appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination and is expecting to pass with the requisite percentage of aggregate number of marks in the said examination is also eligible to apply. In case such a candidate is called for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview, the permission to appear in these shall be granted only if he / she produces a certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended, if he / she is a regular candidate, and from the Controller of Examinations, if he /she is a private candidate, testifying that he / she has appeared in full at least in the written part of the final year of the qualifying examination.
In addition to the above, the following eligibility is required to MBA Admission:
1.The candidate must have appeared in CAT-2023.
2. The candidate must fulfil all eligibility requirements, failing which The Business School shall not be held responsible.
3.Admission is purely done through department website (https://tbs.jammuuniversity.ac.in).
Candidates have to fill up online admission form as per the Advertisement Notice issued by The Business School, University of Jammu from time to time.
CAT/MAT Eligibility Criteria:
1. The candidates with CAT/MAT Percentile of 50 and above are eligible for The Business School, University of Jammu i.e Main Campus including Self-Finance.
2. The candidates with CAT/MAT Percentile 25 and above are eligible for offsite campuses i.e Kathua Campus and Baderwah Campus and Private College I.e. Institute of Management Sciences, Jammu including Self Finance.
The 1st preference will be given to candidates who have qualified relevant CAT Exam as per the percentile mentioned above. If any seat remains vacant on the basis of CAT Exam, then relevant MAT exam is considered to fill up the remaining seats.
Selection for admission to MBA course shall be made on the basis of :
(a) CAT-2023: 1st Preference
(b) AIMA-MAT September 2023 onwards: 2nd Preference
(c) Weightage of the Academic Credentials
(d) Group Discussion and Personal interview (GD/PI) to be conducted by the Admission Committee duly constituted and approved by the University of Jammu.
University of Jammu uses CAT/MAT score for short-listing the candidates for Post-Graduate Programme in Management (MBA). IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the Programme.

The admission of candidate in the open merit as well as in the reserved categories and self-financing seats shall be made strictly in order of merit and as per the Statutes of the University.
All admissions shall be made as per the prescribed Statutes governing the Master Degree Programme in Business Administration (MBA).
No admission shall be made after 5 days of the decision of the Appellate Committee or after 15 days from the commencement of the class work whichever is later.
All appeals whatsoever relating to admission shall be entertained within one week of the closing of the admission process.
Name/s of the candidate/s provisionally selected for admission shall be noticed from time to time and will be available on website www.tbs.jammuuniversity.ac.in
The candidates in their own interest are required to keep in touch with The Business School and comply with the instructions issued from time to time vide various admission notices in this regard.
The selection shall be cancelled and no complaint shall be entertained in case of non-compliance to such admission notice(s).
Intake in the MBA Course
The total intake capacity for admission to The Business School, University of Jammu is as follows:
Open Merit: 60 Seats
Self-finance: 09 SeatsThe admission in open as well as reserved category seats will be done as per the new reservation policy of Government and latest Statutes of University of Jammu.
Besides the open and reserved category seats, University of Jammu also admits candidates against self-financing seats.
The amount realized from the candidates seeking admission against the self - financing seats shall be Rs 3 Lakhs ( Two Lacs in case of Kathua/ Bhaderwah Campus) in addition to the normal fee or as noticed by the University from time to time.
The payment made against a self - financing seat is not refundable.
The candidate opting for the self-financing seat may exercise his/her option by filling the choice in online admission form at the time of the submission of the Application Form.
The seat under this category shall be allotted strictly on the basis of merit-cum-choice and as per the Statutes governing the Course.

Calculation of Marks">Calculation of Marks For Academic Credentials
Academic record shall be determined on the basis of performance in the following
examinations:
a) 10th, 11th or 12th Class examination whichever is most
advantageous to the candidate - 5 marks
b) Qualifying examination - 5 marks
Total - 10 marks

Explanation:
(a) Credit shall be given for the examination in which the candidate has secured the highest marks provided the examination is conducted by a Board / University.
(b) (i) For the candidates who have passed the final examination of the Bachelor's Degree, aggregate marks of all the years / semesters obtained by them shall be taken into account for the purpose of evaluation as above; and
(ii) For the candidates who have not passed the final year examination at the time of Application/Group Discussion and Personal Interview, aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in all the semesters prior to the final year/semester examination shall be taken into account for the purpose of evaluation as above.
